It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jackson Phillips Hamilton, who left us far too soon on June 14, 2025, at the age of 28.
Born in North Wilkesboro on February 8, 1997, Jackson was a sweet, kind-hearted, and deeply intelligent soul, full of promise and deeply loved by his family, friends, and co-workers. He brought joy, laughter, and love to all who knew him and had a special way of making life feel a little lighter, a little more beautiful.
Jackson was known for his deep love of music and art, the outdoors, his sharp sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and his unwavering loyalty and kindness. He gave so much of himself to others, often quietly and without hesitation. His presence was a comfort, his spirit a gift.
Despite the warmth he gave so freely, Jackson carried quiet burdens. He faced significant challenges with mental health, and while those closest to him always saw his light, we also recognize the pain he endured. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how vital it is to love one another with compassion, to speak openly about mental health, to reach out to ask for help, and support without judgment.
Jackson is survived by his loving parents, Alex and Julie Hamilton of North Wilkesboro; his sister, Schuyler Macon, and brother-in-law, Mac Macon of Charlotte; his grandmother, Jean Walsh Phillips of North Wilkesboro; and his beloved dog, Lilu. He also leaves behind his aunts, uncles: Amy and Jim Robinson of Virginia Beach, VA; Jim and Karen Hamilton of Columbia, SC; Kathy and Jim Morgan of Wilmington, NC; Betsy Johnson of Wilkesboro; and Jody and Tommy Hayes of North Wilkesboro, and many special cousins. Jackson’s life was also touched by cherished friends who held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Molly and Bill Nesbitt, and James Hamilton; his maternal grandfather, Bill Phillips; and his beloved aunt, Jeanene McCann.
A celebration of Jackson’s life will be held 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Wilkes Art Gallery. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in his memory to the Yadkin River Greenway Council (Friends of the Greenway) online or by mail P.O. Box 191, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659, or the First United Methodist Church Emergency Fund, P.O. Box 1145, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
