Mr. Jack Randall “J.R.” Elledge, age 63, of Hays passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist - Wilkes Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church (Cabin Creek Road) with Rev. Dean Crane officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
J.R. was born on September 13, 1962, in Wilkes County to Junior Bura and Barbara Ann Johnson Elledge. He was a highly skilled concrete finisher who took immense pride in his craftsmanship, always striving for quality and excellence in every project he completed. His strong work ethic and attention to detail were evident in all that he did. Above all, J.R.’s greatest accomplishments in life were his children and grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and were the true center of his world.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jason Elledge.
He is survived by his daughter, Hattie Elledge and fiancé Austin; grandchild, Audileigh Bowlin; sisters, Annette Elledge of Mount Airy, Lisa Elledge of Hays and Jane Franklin, husband Ron of Crystal Lake, Illinois; uncles, Bill Johnson, Roger Johnson (Cheryl) and many cousins.
