She is survived by her sister; Glenda Yokely of Winston-Salem and her brother; F. H. Lankford of Georgia and a special niece; Pam Leland of High Point.
A faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, she enjoyed serving in the nursery, with visitation and the card ministry. She worked at Hanes Knitting for several years until she became a full-time chicken farmer and homemaker. She loved gardening and was a talented seamstress, sharing her Barbie clothes with many children in the community as well as her family.
She will be remembered as a devoted Mom, a loving Mamaw, a faithful friend and hard working member of the community. She fought a courageous battle and will be missed.
A special thank you to Wake Forest Oncology, Dr. Powell and his team for their devoted, compassionate care and to Debbie Ford, RN of Mtn. Valley Hospice.
