Mrs. Hilda Carol Walker Ratliff, age 67 of Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

Carol was born July 5, 1958, to William Glenn and Nellie Faye Palmer Walker.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s; Tommy Hudson and Sherman Ratliff, a sister; Janie Elizabeth Walker and a brother; Glenn Rayvaughn Walker. 

She is survived by two daughters; Amber Lynne Hudson Baker of Hickory and Amanda Faye Hudson Hill (Andrew) of Gallipolis, Ohio, a grandson; Jordan Matthew Hill of West, Virginia, a sister; Mary Nell Lawrence (John) of Canton, Ga, a brother; Rev. William Michael Walker (Sandra) of Cottageville, West Virginia, stepmother; Christine Walker and five nieces and two nephews.  

Carol enjoyed reading the Holy Bible, attending church services, playing piano or guitar and singing gospel songs.  She liked to tease and joke to make others laugh. 

The family would like to thank all the Westwood Hills nurses and staff for the very long-term care and love shown to Carol.
