Hessie Lee (Parker) Holcomb

Mrs. Hessie Parker Holcomb, age 103, of Moravian Falls passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at New Hope Baptist Church on Brushy Mountain Road with Rev. John T. Vannoy, III officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Hessie was born on January 29,1923, in Wilkes County to Belo and Cora Jane Moore Parker. She was a member at New Hope Baptist Church, where she remained active until recently. Hessie retired from Borden’s Dairy Industry in High Point, NC after 39 years of service. She worked in Parker’s fruit stand for 30 seasons following her retirement from Borden’s. Hessie enjoyed traveling with friends. She cherished the time she spent with her friends and nieces and enjoyed the luncheons and endeavors they shared together. Hessie was committed to being an avid gardener. She loved Elvis! Hessie was an Elvis fan until the very end.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Holcomb; two sisters, Hazel Parker Hendrick, Agnes Parker Fletcher and a brother, John Henry Parker.

She is survived by two brothers, Jonah Amos Parker and wife Helen of Brushy Mountains, Moravian Falls, George Clayton Parker of Lexington and nineteen nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the very special nurses and aids that took such great care of her Summer, Natalie, and Barbara.
