Mr. Herbert Clayton Anderson, age 96, of Moravian Falls, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025, at State Employees’ Hospice Center in Yadkinville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. John T.  Vannoy, III officiating.  Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Anderson was born August 13,1928 in Wilkes County to Alonzo and Ruie Virgie Estep Anderson.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in the Brushy Mountain community.  Mr. Anderson retired from Cannon Mills after 47 years of employment.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dicie Moore Anderson and one son, James Anderson.

Mr. Anderson is survived by one daughter, Helen Scott of Kannapolis: two sons, David Anderson of Kannapolis, and Jerry Anderson (Janet) of Pilot Mountain. Thirteen grandchildren; Angela Gehr (Dan), Kathy Gehr (Dave), Joanna Anderson (David), Robert Scott (Dana), Carrie Scott, Sarah Scott, Jeremy Willard (Krista), Christopher Anderson (Amanda), James Anderson (Mary Catherine), Joshua Anderson (Amy), Steve Fowler (Patricia), Greg Fowler (Sharon) and Michele Day (Mark).  Eighteen Great-Grandchildren and five Great-Great-Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 243 N Lee Ave, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
