Mrs. Gladys Helen Holbrook Wyatt, age 81 of Traphill, wife of Willie Joe Wyatt, died on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Wilkes Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Old Roaring River Baptist Church in Traphill with Pastor James Pardue and Rev. Don Myers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening, August 3, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wyatt was born January 2, 1939 in Wilkes County to Lundy Brownlow and Beatrice D. Sidden Holbrook. She was a member of Old Roaring River Baptist Church. She loved to sew and make quilts, work puzzles, she had a “green thumb” and loved flowers, but she loved her little dog, Joe, and her family most of all.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Byrd; and three brothers, Edward Holbrook, Paul Holbrook, and Kenneth Holbrook.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Willie Joe Wyatt, of the home; one daughter, Paula Wyatt Byrd and husband, Jim, of Traphill; two grandchildren, Benjamin Wyatt Byrd and wife, Stephanie, of Wilkesboro, and Seth Michael Byrd and wife, Kelsey, of North Wilkesboro; and one sister, Bonnie Brewer of Hamptonville.
