Mrs. Helen Walker Ferguson, age 87 of Millers Creek passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Wilkes Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Evan Moore officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was born on March 23, 1937, in Wilkes County to Elisha Winfred and Grace Curtis Walker.  Helen was a dedicated member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church and loved her church family.  Helen’s hobby was gardening and working in her flowers. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Fred Ferguson; two sisters, Frances Gay and Grace Vaught; and four brothers, Junior Curtis, Bobby Walker, Eddie Curtis and George Curtis.

She is survived by one brother, Basil Walker (Gail) of Hilton Head, SC; four sisters-in-laws, Maxine Curtis of Millers Creek, JoAnn Walker of Wilkesboro, Betty Price of North Wilkesboro and Lou Curtis of Elkton, FL; and brother-in-law, Bill Ferguson of Hays; and many nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Pilgrim Baptist Church, PO Box 1517, Millers Creek, NC 28651.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wilkes Assisted Living in North Wilkesboro for the compassionate care they provided to Helen.  She and her family loved you more than you will ever know.
