Mrs. Helen Ann Church Elmore, age 91 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. David Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday night at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be at Eshcol Church Cemetery in Wilkesboro.
Mrs. Elmore was born August 22, 1932, in Wilkes County to Lonnie Edmond Church and Hassie Annie Triplette Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Elmore; one daughter, Angela Lee Elmore, one son Edwin Elmore, one grandchild, Mike Elmore; one sister, Ruby Church; two brothers Gwyn Church and Clyde Church; one brother-in-law, John Greene; and one sister-in-law, Sarah Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Lisa Porter (John Darnell) of North Wilkesboro, Ruby Wagoner and husband Mack of Hays, Sheila Hart and husband Eddie of Wilkesboro; two sons, Billy Elmore of North Wilkesboro, Jimmy Elmore and wife Carrie of Millers Creek; nine grandchildren, Angela Penaloza, Regina Winters, Pamela Royal, Ritchie Brown, Jason Hart, Amy Hart Papa, Michelle Coffey, Lilly Elmore, Jasmine Elmore; sixteen great-grandchildren, Aaron Martin, Courtney Wagner, Ethan Penaloza, Helena Penaloza, Jesse Winters, Lisa Winters, Josh Winters, Lauren Sparks, Zachary Sparks, Mackenzie Haynes, Renesmae Brown, Zoey Rhoades, Paxton Hart, Cavan McGrady, Cecelia Coffey, Cohen Coffey; five great-great grandchildren, Rowan Wagner, Davina Sheilds, Iliana Mendez, Leilani Mendez, Jonah Winters; two sisters, Barbara Jean Greene of Purlear, Christine Nichols of Millers Creek; and one brother, Ralph Church of Millers Creek; and one brother-in-law, Claude Nichols.
