Helen Jean “Nan” Clark, age 96, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Taylorsville, North Carolina. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Nan lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her talents, and her community.
Nan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Clark, and her son, John Clark.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter Barbara Harding and her husband Mike; daughter Mary Hill and her husband Jeff; and son William “Billy” Clark. Nan was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren.
Nan had a deep passion for the game of Bridge and achieved the distinguished title of Life Master in duplicate bridge. Music was also a lifelong joy for her, and she generously shared her talent by playing the organ and piano for others. Prior to becoming a resident at Taylorsville House, Nan resided at Rose Glen Village in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, for seven years.
The family would like to thank Taylorsville House and Hospice of Alexander County for their kindness and patience that they have shown to our mother.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
