Mrs. Hazel Mae Blackburn Chambers, age 90, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Marvin Blackburn and Pastor Ronnie Helton officiating. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Hazel was born January 4, 1934, in Wilkes County to Willie and Wilma Clonch Blackburn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; Opal Blackburn, four brothers; Steve, Larry, Flay, and Jimmy Blackburn.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years; Herman Spencer Chambers of the home, two daughters; Marlene Chambers Schiftan (Michael) of Winston Salem, Kathy Chambers Morrison (Dwayne) of Statesville, three grandchildren; Harrison Littell, Olivia-Grace Reaume, Spencer Morrison, five great-grandchildren; James Littell, Jack Littell, Emmaline Reaume, Emerson Reaume, Brixton Morrison, three sisters; Shelby Blackburn (Farris) of North Wilkesboro, Elean Earp of North Wilkesboro, Peggy Walton of Elkin, seven brothers; William Bill Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Marvin Blackburn (Betty) of North Wilkesboro, Raymond Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Kent Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Danny Blackburn (Paulette) of North Wilkesboro, Mike Blackburn (Carol) of North Wilkesboro, and Terry Blackburn (Nancy) of North Wilkesboro, a brother-in-law; Paul Chambers (Marie) of North Wilkesboro, and many nieces and nephews.
