Mr. Harold James Wiles, age 82 of North Wilkesboro passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2025, at Rock Creek Church of Christ with Preacher Randy Warden and Grandson Avery Wallis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard will be in the church cemetery.
He was born on October 27, 1942, in Wilkes County, to James Burette and Selma Campbell Wiles.
Harold was well-known for his dependable nature, gentleness, and good humor. He loved good food and company, but his favorite thing to do was catch an exciting high school basketball game, especially when his grandkids were playing. He was the most enthusiastic fan and referee critic in the gym. His brothers and sisters in Christ are thankful to have been loved and served by him for many years at Rock Creek Church of Christ. In his prayers, he always remembered to thank God for all of the simple things, but most importantly for the “great love that God has for the whole human family.” Harold was many things to many people– Daddy, Papa, Unc, Uncle Harold, Herm, Herbie, Harold James. To all, he was a friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Gale McCann Wiles and sister, Frances Blevins.
He is survived by two daughters, Heather Wiles Wallis and husband Chuck of North Wilkesboro, April Wiles Pruitt of North Wilkesboro; nine grandchildren, James Levi Pardue, Jailen Lancerio (Eben), Avery Wallis, Adrian Brown (Derrick), Lethia Pardue, Jordan Wallis (Kaitlynn), Aubrey Wallis, Josie Wallis, Vana Pruitt; three great grandchildren, Nolan Wallis, Malcolm Wallis, Frankie Rose Wallis; two sisters, Patsy Howard of Hays and Aundra Absher of North Wilkesboro; many special nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Sharon Severt.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Rock Creek Church of Christ, 1230 Rock Creek Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
