Gary Wayne McGlamery

Mr. Gary Wayne McGlamery, age 62 of Wilkesboro passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. 

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Gary was born October 27, 1961 in Wilkes County to Jim and Sue Vannoy McGlamery.  He spent a large portion of his life working at American Drew Furniture and then in the construction business.  He enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding, motorcycling and working on old cars.  Gary had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. 

He was preceded in death by his father; Jim McGlamery, his mother; Sue Blackburn, step-father; Jerry Blackburn, three brothers; David McGlamery, Michael McGlamery and Tommy McGlamery and special person; Wendy Bechtel. 

He is survived by a daughter; Kenna Hill of North Wilkesboro, a brother; Kevin Blackburn and wife Bobbie of North Wilkesboro, three nephews, three nieces, three great nephews, three great nieces and a special person in his life; Cherie Triplett of the home.
