Mr. Fred Jarvis Billings, age 88 of Elkin passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Johnson and Rev. Mark Barlow officiating.
Fred was born June 14, 1934, in Wilkes County to William Franklin and Ollie Ray Bauguess Billings. He was a God-loving member of the Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. A true patriot and soldier, who served as a combat medic in the United States Army in Korea.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters; Mary Blevins, Martha Lowe, Pansy Bauguess, four brothers; Ted Billings, Ezra Billings, Sherman Billings and Marvin Billings.
He is survived by his wife; Betty Alexander Billings of the home, two daughters; Gayle (Mark) Spillane of Winston-Salem, Lynn Segraves and Alex Roper of Hickory, five grandchildren; Leigha (Dusty) Smith, Heather Brewer and Brandon Cheek, Wally (Cassie) Stiehm, Elizabeth Stiehm and Todd Morrison, Katherine Stiehm, three great grandchildren; Eli Byrd, Thorin Smith, Branson Cheek and several nieces and nephews.
