Frances grew up in a caring and wholesome Christian home. She had an exceptionally close and loving relationship with her parents and siblings. Very often when she would reflect and share about her younger life, she included the special love and closeness she had with her mother and sisters.
Frances’ greatest value was without a doubt loving and caring for her family, her siblings, her children and her grandchildren.
Frances left high school as a teenager to get married. But her ambition led her to finish high school and graduate. She continued her education to earn an A.S. degree in Cosmetology. She built a successful career as a hair dresser and eventually owned her own hair salon. Through her success, she was recruited to teach Cosmetology at Brunswick Community College.
While teaching, her desire for learning motivated her to continue her studies and earn an additional A.S. Degree in General Education.
With her passion for shaping the minds of young hair dressers, her career grew and ultimately resulted in her becoming leader of the Cosmetology department. It was in this position she retired after 30 years of teaching.
In her love for her family and friends, she always found a way to help those in need around her. She was generous and touched the lives of many.
Though she spent much of her adult life living in the coastal area of Ash, NC, her love for her parents and family led her desire to be laid to rest in Wilkes County close to the location of her childhood.
