Frances Roberta (Wilfong) Bowick

Mrs. Frances Wilfong Bowick, age 86 of Wilkesboro passed away May 3, 2023, at Ridge Valley Nursing Center in Wilkesboro.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Rickard’s Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Richard K. Watts officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the church prior to the service. The burial will be in the Harris Cemetery in Wilkesboro.

Frances was born March 27, 1937, in Wilkes County to William Lester Wilfong, Sr. and Roberta Gladys Gilreath Wilfong.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three daughters; Dr. Brenda Barber (Scott) of North Wilkesboro, Dr. Linda D. Alexander of Winston-Salem, and Ms. Sybil R. Bowick of Maryland; one son; Mr. James R. Bowick, Jr. (Marsha) of Lenoir; grandchildren; Amanda Redmon (Seth), J.R. Packingham, Sasha M. Harrison (Travis), Lindsey D. Mason (Billie), Ymani Davis, Imani Bowick and Dwayne Bowick; great-grandchildren; Travis Harrison, Jr., Kai Harrison, Billie Mason, IV, and Banner Mason.
