Ms. Emma Louise Harris Grinton was born February 6, 1932 in Wilkes County to the late Granville Harris and Annette Parks Harris.
She joined Parks Grove Baptist Church and remained a member until her death. She loved to sing and a favorite was “If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again”. Another passion she had was cooking and working in flowers. She loved reading her Bible and talking to the Lord thanking Him for her blessings. She was patient and always very fashionable. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Ms. Grinton was preceded in death by both her husbands, Frank Robert Bailey and William Bill Grinton; one daughter, Kathy Grinton; two sisters, Jessie Majors and Louella Cox; and four brothers, Romie Harris, Rogan Harris, Julius Harris, and George Lee Harris.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Loretta Bailey of Lexington and Gail Grinton of North Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Justin McKenya Bailey of Winston-Salem, Christy Ivane Bailey of Lexington, Jonathan Jamar Nathaniel Grinton (Mercedes) of North Wilkesboro, Karen Gail Grinton ( Larson Alers) of Taylor, SC, Natayla Oyola, Alec Oyola, Brooklyn Oyola all of North Wilkesboro; four great-granchildren, Alana Giselle Grinton of North Wilkesboro, Jaylen Nathaniel Grinton of North Wilkesboro, Aceon Carter Alers of Taylor, SC, and Xanovia Hope Alers of Taylor, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
The family bow in humble submission to God’s will; knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
