Mrs. Walker was born on June 26, 1941, to William Dewey Wood and Vertie Stone Wood. She was a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church. She worked at Modern Globe for over 30 years while raising her three greatest blessings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Walker, Jr.; her twin sons, Thomas Andy Walker and Thomas Sandy Walker; her twin sister, Helen Wood Roope and husband, Fred Roope; her brother-in-law, R. J. Absher; and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Wood.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved son, Terry Lee Walker and wife, Billie Jo, of North Wilkesboro; three granddaughters, Sammi Jo Carson and husband, July, of Statesville, Kayla Elizabeth Harris and husband Thomas, of Statesville, and Ashley Michele Rudd and husband, Seneca, of Yadkinville; and one great-granddaughter, Julia Rudd.

She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Wood, of North Wilkesboro; her sisters, Kathy McMillan and husband Ronnie, of North Wilkesboro, and Peggy Absher of Hayes; a special family member, David Johnson and wife, Christina, of North Wilkesboro; her beloved pet, Rusty; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews; and numerous treasured friends who were like family.

Ellen lived a life defined by love, devotion, and quiet generosity. She was a devoted mother, loving family member, and faithful servant of the Lord. Her greatest joy was raising her sons, nurturing them with unwavering care, and faithfully supporting them at their athletic events and milestones. She found deep fulfillment in helping others and consistently placed the needs of others before her own.

Ellen had a deep appreciation for beauty and the world around her. She loved nature, flowers, tasteful décor, and fine dining, and she took great pleasure in creating warm, welcoming spaces for family and friends. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family. She especially cherished traveling with her son Terry and his wife, Billie Jo, and the memories they shared will remain a lasting source of comfort and gratitude.

Known for her kindness and grace, Ellen was beautiful in both spirit and presence. She was humble, generous, and warm, with a gentle sense of humor that put others at ease. She loved fiercely and loyally, forming deep and lasting bonds, and she brought light and comfort to everyone she encountered.

A woman of strong faith, Ellen believed deeply in the Lord and in the promise of eternal life. She found peace in the assurance of a Heavenly home, where she has now been reunited with her precious twin sons, Andy and Sandy, and her devoted husband, Tom. Her legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
