Elizabeth "Ann" (Waddell) Roope

Mrs. Elizabeth “Ann” Waddell Roope, age 80, of Millers Creek passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at her home. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Ann was born March 3, 1945, in Wilkes County to Thomas “Paul” and Ethel Mastin Waddell. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Colen James Roope. 

She is survived by a daughter; Laurie Wilcox and husband Michael of Viera, Florida, son; Gerald Roope of North Wilkesboro six grandchildren; Brooke Wright (Dustin), Tanner Wilcox (Rachel), Tyler Wilcox (Marissa), Ella Wilcox, Drew Roope, Grey Roope, two brothers; John Waddell (Nancy) of North Wilkesboro, and Barton Waddell of Millers Creek. 

Many people knew Ann through her career in banking where she especially enjoyed helping people as a mortgage loan officer. However, of all her accomplishments, her proudest moments included her grandchildren. Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will forever be missed.
