Mr. Edward McConnell of Ed’s Appliance Services, age 81, of Moravian Falls, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House. 

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Ryan Hodges officiating.   Burial with Military Honors by the United States Army will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Edward was born May 20, 1944, in Manchester, England to Edward Harding and Doris Millen McConnell.  He served in the United States Army during the Operation Iraqi Freedom and Desert Storm Wars. Ed attended Rocky Face Baptist Church of Hiddenite.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter; Barbara McConnell, a granddaughter; Kayla McConnell, a sister; June Phillips, a brother; Wayne McConnell and a son-in-law; Terrell Kauffman. 

He is survived by his wife; Clara Miller McConnell of the home; a daughter; Bonnie Kauffman (Larry Adams) of Moravian Falls, a son; Edward William McConnell (Betty) of Boomer, grandchildren; William McConnell (Amanda), Austin McConnell, Jonathan Pittman (Kayla), Michael McConnell, Steven Kauffman (Vicki), Ashley Kauffman, Bria Wheeler (Lee), Brooke Cornett (Heath) and twenty great grandchildren.
