Edgar Ransom Minton, Jr.

Mr. Edgar Ransom Minton, Jr., age 90, of Millers Creek passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Ridge Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. David Wellborn officiating. Burial with Military Honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Edgar was born February 16, 1935, in Wilkes County to Edgar Ransom Minton, Sr. and Connie Minton.  He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Norma Jean Jolly Minton and three sisters; Sylvia, Doris and Edna. 

He is survived by two sons; Greg Minton and wife Lee Ann of Wilkesboro, David Todd Minton of North Wilkesboro, three grandchildren; Katherine Minton, Elizabeth Minton both of Wilkesboro and Kayla Nicole Minton.
