Donald Roope Obituary
Mr. Donald Columbus Roope, age 84 of Hays passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Jennings and Rev. Jason Wiles officiating. The family will receive from 10:30 until 11:00 AM at the cemetery prior to the service.
Mr. Roope was born November 19, 1935 in Wilkes County to Norman and Lela Caudill Roope. He retired from Yadkin Valley Ford Motor Company after 33 years of service.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Fannie Johnson Roope and a brother; Charles Roope.
He is survived by two sons; Donald Steven Roope and wife Sherrie and Timothy Norman Roope and wife Landra all of Hays; four grandchildren; Eric Roope and wife Jessica, Andrea Roope, Tiffany Roope, and BrookeLynn Roope; six great grandchildren; Steven Roope, Ethan Roope, William Roope, Ryker Roope, Aiden Roope, and Jaxson Roope; a sister;Louise Wiles and husband Jimmy of Hays, two brothers; Melvin Roope and wife Helen of Hays, Dean Roope of Hays and a sister in-law; Minnie Roope.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to donor’s choice.
