Della Fay (Nichols) Eller

Della Fay Eller was born in Purlear, NC on December 30, 1926 and went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2020. 

Fay’s parents were Romulus Don Nichols and Mary Lou Lovette Nichols. 

Fay was a truly wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend, who will be greatly missed. 

She attended West Wilkes in Millers Creek.  Fay also attended 2 years at the Davis Nursing School in Statesville.  She worked for F.W. Woolworths in Baltimore, MD retiring as a Store Manager after 25 years.   She also worked 10 years at the Goody’s Store in North Wilkesboro retiring the second time at age 78.  

Fay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; James Henry Eller, a son; James A. Eller, a daughter; Kay Eller Love, two grandsons; David Dalecki and Christopher Eller and two brothers; Quentin Nichols and Kermit Nichols. 

She is survived by her children; Renee Eller, Regina Lanzl, John Eller, Don Eller and wife Betsy, and Theresa Groves and husband Barry, daughter-in-law; Ann Eller and  son-in-law; Bruce Love and special son; Glenn Faw and wife April.  She has fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Fay is also survived by her sister; Ruth Nichols, brother-in-law; Joe Eller and wife Peggy, sister-in-law; Mary Fox and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the Purlear Baptist Church, 181 Shingle Gap Road, Purlear, NC at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2020.  Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.  The family will greet guests from 9:30 until 10:30 AM prior to the service.   

Pastor Jamie McGuire will conduct the service.  Pallbearers are Ted Dalecki and Justin Lanzl, Don Eller and Glenn Faw. 

A celebration of life meal to follow at The Charity Community Church Fellowship Hall, 728 Charity Church Road, Millers Creek, NC  sponsored by Purlear Baptist Church family. 

Flowers will be accepted and food donations may be delivered to the Charity Community Church Fellowship Hall.
