David Kyle Jones

David Kyle Jones, age 67 of Traphill, passed away, January 16, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Kyle was born June 8, 1955 in Wilkes County to Monty Jones and Lucy Pierce. 

Kyle was a compassionate loving husband and father, grandfather to 16 and great grandfather to 5.  He was a member of New Light Baptist Church # 1. He loved drag racing, dirt racing and asphalt racing.  He enjoyed fishing and he loved his grandbabies.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2023 at New Light Baptist Church #1 with Rev. David Key officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donnie Jones, nephews, Andy Wilcox and Bobby Jones, grandchildren Master Logan David Allen Minton and Kinsleigh Grace Jones. 

Surviving is his wife of 47 years Shirley Jones; children, Angela Jones of Traphill, April Rankins and spouse Raymond of Amarillo,Texas, Tabitha Poe and spouse Randy of Traphill, Tommy Jones and spouse Jessica of Traphill, and Crystal Johnson and spouse Adam of Traphill. Grandchildren, Angel Hawkins, David Hawkins, Austin Jones, Derrick Rankins, Hailey Rankins, Dillon Minton, Tyler Minton, Garyston Jones, Hunter Poe, Grayson Johnson, Tinsley Jones, Isabella Poe, Hudson Johnson, Zayli Jones and Tia Poe . Siblings Carolyn Poteat, Susan Jones, Ann Jones, and Ray Jones; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Adalynn, Brayden and Zaralynn Wagoner.
