Darryl Maynard Moore

Mr. Darryl Maynard Moore, age 81 of Wilkesboro,  died Friday, September 4, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Wilkes Medical Center. 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Hunting Creek Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Poole and Rev. Dennis Love officiating.  A public viewing will be held Sunday from 1:00 until 5:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Mr. Moore was born May 30, 1939 in Wilkes County to Vestal Archie and Ruby Prevette Moore.  He was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church.  Mr. Moore was a 40 year member of the Broadway Volunteer Fire Department and a former board member.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Love Moore; a stepson, Terry Love; and one sister, Helen Mallard.

He is survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Shirley Moore; one daughter, Hope Calloway of Winston-Salem; one step-daughter, Pam Dancy and husband, John, of Wilkesboro; three sons, Jeff Moore and wife, Donna of Millers Creek, Mike Moore and wife, Jane, of Wilkesboro, and Steve Moore of Yadkinville; two stepsons, Rev. Dennis Love and wife, Vicki, of Marion, and Ray Love, Jr. and wife, Shannon, of Summerville, SC; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Moore of Fleetwood and Archie “Eddie” Moore and wife, Ann, of Elkin.
