Mr. Damon Junior Carlton, age 79 of Boomer passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 30, 2023, at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Monte Simmons, Rev. Ronald Howell, Rev. Graylin Carlton, Rev. Willie Jackson, and Rev. Randy Graham officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Damon was born August 24, 1943, in Bluefield, WV to Eugene and Ruthie Parsons Carlton. He was a member of Thankful Baptist Church and retired from Bernhart Furniture in Lenoir after thirty-four years of employment.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Edward Eugene Carlton, and Alfonso Carlton.

He is survived by his wife; Maxine Calloway Carlton of the home, three daughters; Donna Carlton Harris and (Keith) of Raleigh, Lisa Carlton of Winston-Salem, Brittny Carlton and (Shay Rodgers) of North Wilkesboro, six grandchildren; Jamon Carlton, Cortlan Clark, Kennedy Harris, Brycen Carlton, Bryant Carlton, Kassidy Harris, a sister; Patricia Ann Hendrix of Boomer, a brother; Ed Lee Carlton and (Sallie) of Boomer, four sisters-in-laws; Lula Belle Carlton of Lenoir, Lula Carlton of Boomer, Pauline Cunningham of Lenoir, and Marcella Calloway of Morganton and he also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
