Dallas "Wayne" Hamby

Mr. Dallas “Wayne” Hamby, age 91, of Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at his home. 

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. David Wellborn officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 PM prior to the service in the old sanctuary. 

Wayne was born August 12, 1933, in Wilkes County to Benjamin Harrison and Roxie Greene Hamby.  He was a member of Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Kathy Jennings, four sisters; Beatrice Triplett, Rose Eller, Edna Benton, Reba Triplette and three brothers; Garlon Hamby, Willard Hamby and Luther Hamby. 

He is survived by his wife; Norma Brewer Hamby of the home, four daughters; Judy (Jerry) Holt of Rougemont, Janice (Danny) Mathis of Myrtle Beach, Susan (Heather) Johnson of Catawba, Jill (Alton) Eller of Wilkesboro, a son; Lyndon (Rita) Hamby of Wilkesboro, eight grandchildren; Justin Hamby, Chad Mathis, Jason Mathis, Nick Brown, Gretta Eller-Billings, Chis Pace, Corey Burkhart, Shinece Armstrong, eleven great grandchildren and a sister; Bennie Johnson of Millers Creek. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church, 2446 Fishing Creek Arbor Road, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
