Connie Sue (Mitchell) Spears

Mrs. Connie Mitchell Spears, age 81, of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Winston Salem. 

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Millsaps officiating. Burial will be in the Spears Family Cemetery in Millers Creek. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.       

Connie was born February 26, 1944, in Wilkes County to Bembo and Pansy Bumgarner Mitchell. She loved to watch football and was a Panther fan. Connie was very special to all who knew her and was very loved. She will be greatly missed. Connie loved her kids and grandkids more than life itself. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter; Jeanette Spears, son; Jody Spears, sister; Judy Wagoner, two brothers; Herman Mitchell and Gene Mitchell.

She is survived by her husband; Connie Abner Spears of the home, one daughter; Annette (Brent) Johnson of North Wilkesboro, four sons; Ronnie Spears of North Wilkesboro, Jessie Spears of North Wilkesboro, David Spears of North Wilkesboro, Joey Spears (LeAnn Church) of North Wilkesboro, twelve grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
