Clayton Eugene Parsons

Mr. Clayton Eugene Parsons, age 68 of North Wilkesboro passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 7, 2020 at his home. 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Scenic Memorial Gardens with Rev. Sherrill Wellborn and Rev. Gwyn Anderson officiating.  

Mr. Parsons was born July 3, 1952 in Wilkes County to Charlie Cavnis and Hazel Virginia Phillips Parsons.  

Clayton was a much loved son, brother and uncle.  Clayton loved being with his siblings at special occasions, eating, laughing and playing rook.  He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching football, tennis, basketball and especially NASCAR.  He loved the outdoors and nature.  Riding and hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway were some of his favorite pastimes.  He volunteered with “The Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway” for many years for clean-up day and trail volunteer.  Clayton retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement with over 20 years service. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister; Mary Royal. 

He is survived by four sisters; Margaret Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Martha Anderson and husband Gwyn, Madelene Johnson and husband Gary all of Wilkesboro and Mildred Brooks of Millers Creek and a brother; Alvin Parsons and Fran of Millers Creek, a niece; Carol Bumgarner, nephews; Mike Blackburn, Jeff Anderson, Allan Royal and Marty Parsons.
