Claudia Ann Stamey

Ms. Claudia Ann Stamey age 62 of Millers Creek, NC  28651 passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Lynda Ferguson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.  Entombment will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park.

Ms. Stamey was born June 17, 1958 in Wilkes County to Claude Stamey and Esta Leigh Moore Stamey, where she lived her entire life. She retired from the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department after 30 years of service as a deputy and dispatcher.

After her retirement, she enjoyed trivia, solving puzzles, and video games.  She was an avid fan of UNC Basketball, Panthers Football, and loved nothing more than watching a volleyball game in which her nieces played or coached.  With her quick wit and dry sense of humor, anyone who knew her will miss her sarcasm, but more so her giving heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and beloved brother-in-law, Rev. Don Phillips.

She is survived by a sister Patricia Stamey Phillips of Asheboro. a niece Callie Phillips (Shelly Phillips) of Kannapolis, niece Kathryn Thill (Jonathan), great nephews Jackson and Remi Thill, all of Asheboro, and life-long best friend Ann Williams of Millers Creek.
