Mrs. Christy Roten Cardwell, age 45, of Jonesville passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 9, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Brian Dula officiating. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Christy was born June 21, 1980, in Wilkes County to Larry Michael Roten and Vivian Diana McGuire Tilley. She attended Crossroads Baptist Church in Lenoir. Christy was the best daughter, sister, aunt, and godmother anyone could ever ask for. She was involved in Elkin Rotary, volunteer in Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of Birches Foundation, Health Care liaison for Surry County Allstars. Christy will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Christy worked for Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation as the admissions and marketing director.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband; Anthony “Tony” Cardwell of the home, her mother; Vivian Diana McGuire Tilley, two brothers; Michael Roten (Holly) of Lenoir, Scott Roten (Lisa) of North Wilkesboro, five nieces; Natali Roten, Hylee Merritt, Auburne Merritt, Demi Merritt, Serenite Roten, four nephews; Robby Roten, Caleb Roten, Nathan Roten, Noah Roten, two goddaughters; Izzabella Davis, Haisley Towe, and best friend: Julie Stafford.
