Mr. Charles “Chuck” Brandon Parker, age 81, of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist – Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Lutheran Church of the Atonement with Pastor Roger Hull and Rev. Craven Ford officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
Charles "Chuck" Brandon Parker was born July 28, 1944, in Rowan County to Willis Talmage and Sadie Brandon Parker. He married Pauletta Lee Reid, and they had one son, Patrick. Chuck attended Spencer Elementary School and graduated from North Rowan High School in 1962. He earned a B.S. degree from ASTC in 1966. Chuck received an M.A. degree 1970 and an ED.S degree in 1981 from ASU. His career started in 1966. From 1966 to 1973, he was a seventh-grade teacher, basketball and baseball coach, and assistant principal at Jonesville Elementary. Chuck served as a graduate fellow in ASU's College of Education, 1973-74. He became Director of Audiovisual Instruction and Public Relations for WCS in 1974. Chuck served as Director of Personnel Services, managing all aspects of human resources, 1982-91. He was named Special Assistant for Meda and Technology Services in 1991. As school system's chief technology officer, Parker brought administrative offices, schools, and classrooms online in the Information Age. Chuck assembled a technical staff to equip the central office for mainframe computer services. He equipped all schools and classrooms for broadband network and internet services. Chuck also assembled and trained a cadre of instructional technology specialists to train teachers, principals and central office administrators in the use of computers, software applications, and new technologies. He served as state president of the National School Public Relations Association and treasurer of Personnel Administrators of North Carolina. Chuck was twice honored as Wilkes County School's Administrator of the year by NCAEOP. He was a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary and president of the North Wilkesboro Rotary Club. Chuck retired in 2003.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Pauletta Reid Parker of the home and son, Geoffrey Patrick Parker of Wilkesboro.
