Mr. Charles Edd Billings, Sr, age 82, of Boomer passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his home. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Oakwoods Baptist Church with Rev. Christopher Clark and Rev. John Triplett officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Charles was born June 24, 1942, in Alleghany County to Robert Franklin and Jo Shepherd Billings.  He was a member of Oakwoods Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon and Choir Director.   He went on many mission trips to South Africia, Honduras and Brazil.  He did disaster relief mission work within the United States and his mission was to spread God’s love in his everyday life.  Charles retired from the Town of North Wilkesboro after 30 years of service, then spent his remaining years as a carpenter. He was on the board of Wilkes Telecommunications for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years; Elizabeth Earp Billings of the home, a daughter; Sarah Billings Meidlinger and husband Chris of Wilkesboro, a son; Eddie Billings and wife Patricia of Boomer, two grandchildren; Tyler Johnson (Sydney Blair), Olivia Billings Lambros and husband Ben, a sister Sharon Rollins and husband Doug of Boomer and a brother; Bob Billings and wife Lynn of Scottville and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilkes Ministry of H.O.P.E, 514 Elkin Hwy, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
