Ms. Catherine Childress Holloway, age 83, of Thurmond passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Westwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A private family graveside service will be held at Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
Catherine was born on March 10, 1942, in Wilkes County, to Charles “Charlie” Gordon Childress and Cellie Marie Watson Childress.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Charles “Chuck” Holloway; son-in-law, Ricky Blackburn and brothers, J.T. Childress, Ralph Childress, Junior Childress.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Blackburn of Thurmond; son, Timothy Holloway and wife Kathy of Roaring River; grandchildren, Cameron Blackburn, Mattie Vestal (Caleb), Sarah Poole (Robert), Eden Cranford (Jamey), Danielle Poplin (Jared), Reese McMillan; great-grandchildren, Emeline Settle, Colson Vestal, Luke Vestal, Stetson Vestal, Raelynn Cranford, Blake Cranford, Linxton Poole, Lachlan Poole, Elle Poole; sisters, Jane Benfield of Ronda, Charlie Lou Smith of Elkin and Annie Childress of Elkin and a brother Brady Childress (Margie) of Montana.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.
