Carolyn Raye (Cardwell) Ward

Carolyn Raye Cardwell Ward, age 59 of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at her home.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was born January 2, 1966, in Iredell County to Benny Ray and Peggy Glenn Hudson Cardwell.  She was loved by many dear friends who will cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Royal and Margaret Cardwell; and two brothers, Ricky Cardwell and Benny Cardwell Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth James Ward; three daughters, Angela Anderson of Millers Creek, Sabrina Connors (Nick) of Purlear and Kathy Ward of Wilkesboro; one son, Pete Johnson (Anna) of Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Kimber Anderson, Justin West, Midna West and William Johnson; and three sisters, Nancy Perry, Kathy Cook, and Becky Johnson.
