Carolyn (West) Shell

Mrs. Carolyn West Shell, age 83 of Ferguson passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Curtis Ponder officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Ferguson.

She was born September 23, 1941, in Wilkes County to Walter and Lakey Mae Marley West.  She was a loving mom that was very proud of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Shell; son, Barry Shell; daughter, Pam Stafford; and two grandsons, Anthony and Dalton Shell; five sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by one daughter, Ernestine (Jamie) Dunnagan of Laurel Springs; four sons, Randy Shell of Ferguson, Tim (Susan) Shell of Hays, Tommy (Wilma) Shell of Ferguson, Mickey (Tonya) Shell of Ferguson; eighteen grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. 

The family requests no food.  Flowers will be accepted.
