Mrs. Carolyn Johnson Dearman, age 87 of North Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Levine & Dickson Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark O. Hollar officiating. Entombment will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.   The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. Dearman was born August 16, 1937, in Wilkes County to Dewey  and Vergie Gregory Johnson.

Carolyn was retired from accounting at American Drew where she worked for over forty years.  After retiring she spent time caring for her beloved grandchildren and traveling with the love of her life, David.

Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, David and they were married for sixty -four years before his passing.  She enjoyed attending Baptist Home Church and was a faithful lifetime member where she loved singing in the church choir and working in the church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Dewitt Dearman; three sisters; Betty Sue Dancy, Geraldine Cook and Anna Lou Bach and a special niece, Teresa Casey.

Mrs. Dearman is survived by three daughters; Kimberly Dearman-Wilcox (Shaun) of Oak Island, NC, Tamera Dearman Newton (Steve) of North Wilkesboro and Kandice Dearman-West (Chris) of Matthews, three grandchildren; Cameron David Newton, Joseph Stephen Newton and Kassidy Caroline Newton.
