Mr. Carl E. Vaughn II, age 87 of Long Beach, CA, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cherry Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Tim McCann, Preacher Stan Hostetter and Preacher Charlie Mayberry officiating.  Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard will follow in Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Moravian Falls. 

He was born July 25, 1937, in Forsyth County to Carl E. Vaughn I and Claudia Jarvis Vaughn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Glasser Vaughn, and sister, Mary Lou Tom.

He is survived by three daughters, Angela Vaughn Mayberry (Keith) of Wilkesboro, Sharon Shepherd Dawson (Danny) of Long Beach, CA, and Ashley Vaughn of Winston-Salem; son, Randy Shepherd of Anaheim, CA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Mayberry Griffith (Josh), Clark Mayberry (Kandace), Charlie Mayberry, Cameron Shepherd (Gianna) and Cory Shepherd; six great grandchildren, Sophia Brewer, Jackson Trivette, Sadie Griffith, Cam Mayberry, Georgia Mayberry and Cole Shepherd; one sister, Delores Goins (Bernie) of Westfield, NC; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Cherry Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 4275 Statesville Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
