Bonnie Sue Oakley Mathis

Ms. Bonnie Sue Oakley Mathis, age 89 of Roaring River passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at her home. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 27, 2023 at Cranberry Baptist Church with Rev. Victor Church officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Bonnie was born April 24, 1933 in Wilkes County to Carl and Georgia Ann Johnson Oakley.  She was a member of Cranberry Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son; Gary Mathis. 

She is survived by two daughters; Donna Howard and husband Connelly, Ginger Parks and husband Randall, two sons; Jerry Mathis and wife Debbie, Jeffery Mathis and wife Dayle, seven grandchildren; Amy Williams and husband Mark, Tiffany Anderson and husband Willie, Joshua Mathis and wife Scarlett, Jason Howard and wife Laykn, Jennifer Howard Lemmon and husband Steve, Brandi Parks, Dakota Parks and wife McKinley, thirteen great grandchildren; Kyley, Bruce, Autumn, Joanna, Reagan, Caroline, Jackson, Michael, Benjamin, Joy, James, Amelia and Baby Peyton. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Cranberry Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Judy Mathis, 1131 Wilkes Yadkin Road, Roaring River, NC 28669.
