Mrs. Bonnie Shew Staley better known as “Maw Maw”, age 88 of Roaring River crossed into the Arms of her Heavenly Father on July 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Kent Eller and Rev. Ronnie Gregory officiating. Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday July 6, 2022 evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Staley was born January 23,1934 in Wilkes County to Simon K and Nellie Shew.
She was married to her husband, Bon Lee for 71 years. They always held hands, if they were shopping, walking out the driveway, or just sitting on the couch. They were always together. She was a kind and loving woman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bon Lee Staley; a son; Roger Staley; four sisters and eleven brothers.
She is survived by her; three sons; Edward Staley and wife Janet of Wilkesboro, Jerry Dean Staley of the home, Alvin Staley and wife Ann of Roaring River, seven grandchildren; Angie Rhodes and husband Kevin of Wilkesboro, Kimberly Hembree of Kernersville, Dale Staley and wife Crystal of Wilkesboro, Jennifer Staley of Walkertown, Melissa Vickers and husband Michael of Roaring River, Steven Staley and fiance’ Chasity of Roaring River, Adam Staley and wife Julie of Alexander, VA, fourteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a sister in law; Doris Ann Souther of Wilkesboro.
