Mr. Bobby Dean Huie, Sr. age 81 began his life in heaven on January 16, 2022.  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.  

Bobby Dean was born September 29, 1940 in North Wilkesboro, NC to Lonnie and Ruth Huie.  He was a graduate of North Wilkes High School.  He was employed at Abitibi where he faithfully worked for years.  Bobby Dean was also employed by Tyson until his retirement.  

On May 27, 1962, he married Rita Shumate Huie.  He had four children, Bobby, Annette, Veronica and Chris.  Bobby Dean was happiest when he was spending time with family.  Fishing was a big part of his life.  He associated fishing with health, happiness and a full belly.  When it came to a fish fry, there was none better than his.  He had a love for knives and he proudly displayed his collection.  He loved to go on mission trips and he left a lasting memory on those he encountered as he shared the love of Jesus with them.  His sense of humor left everyone in a room laughing.  Bobby Dean had a caring, giving heart and will be greatly missed by family and friends.  Bobby Dean was a member of Center Baptist Church. 

Bobby Dean was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 52 years; Rita Shumate Huie, two brothers; Earl and Yale Huie. 

He is survived by two sons; Bobby and Chris and two daughters; Annette and Veronica (Ricky), eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one brother; Danny.  

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Center Baptist Church with Rev. David Key officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 PM prior to the service at the church.   Burial will be in the church cemetery.
