Mr. Bobby Sterlie Gregory, age 88, of Statesville passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church (Statesville Rd.) with Pastor Randy Campbell officiating. Military Honors will be delivered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard and the NC National Guard.
Bobby was born on February 9, 1938, in Wilkes County to Rufus Winfred and Lundy Chatham Gregory. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Gregory was a very loving and compassionate man who took on the task to raise children because he didn’t have any of his own. Bobby never met a stranger. He had a special place in his heart for animals and an extreme passion for chocolate.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Felts Gregory and twelve siblings.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Gregory Stegall of Indian Trail and several nieces and nephews he cherished greatly.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Ms. Colleen Moore for her dedication and commitment to making sure Bobby was well taken care of.
