Mr. Billy Ray “Tree” Welborn, 89 of Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Shannon Critcher and Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Ferguson.

Mr. Welborn was born January 26, 1935, in Wilkes County to Ray and Annie Ruth Welborn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Danny Ray Welborn.

He is survived by his wife, Tempa Hamrick Welborn, of the home; one son, Mark Hamrick Welborn (Jamie) of Scottsboro, AL; one granddaughter, Brooke Welborn of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Brayden Welborn and Cam Welborn; and one brother, Tommy Ray Welborn (Ann) of Wilkesboro. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem NC 27103.
