Billy Mathis

 Mr. Billy Mathis, age 84 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, June 29, 2020.

 A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Johnson  officiating. Mr. Mathis will lie in state at Reins- Sturdivant Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

 Mr. Mathis was born October 24, 1935 in Wilkes County to Montgomery and Rebecca Johnson Mathis. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and owner/operator of Mathis and Son Grading, Inc.

 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Billy Michael Mathis and Berry William Mathis; three sisters, Judy Hendren, Willa Johnson, and Arcille Mathis; six brothers, Gaither Mathis, Archie Mathis, Hugh Mathis, Rogan Mathis, Troy Mathis, and Devon Mathis.

 He is survived by his wife, Maggie Moore Mathis; a daughter, Bridgett Mathis of Wilkesboro; three sons, Britt Mathis of North Wilkesboro, Jon Mathis of Boomer, and Bart Mathis and wife Jenna of North Wilkesboro; six grandchildren, Dillon Mathis, Nathan Mathis, Noel Pratt, Tate Pratt, Zoe Mathis and Brody Mathis; and many nieces and nephews.

 Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 1298 Antioch Church Road Wilkesboro, NC  28697.
