Billy Joe Brown

Mr. Billy Joe Brown passed peacefully into his Heavenly home at the home of his daughter and son-in-love, in North Myrtle Beach SC.

“Bill” was born February 17, 1938 to Charlie Franklin and Myrtle Estelle Brown in North Wilkesboro. Bill loved fixing and repairing things.  He was a skilled carpenter and a great mechanic. He spent most of his years working as a service manager for Froelic Cadillac in Winston-Salem and Yadkin Valley Motor in North Wilkesboro.  He retired from Lowe’s Hardware in 2002. He was a member of Fairplains Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and chairman of the building and grounds committee until declining health.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Barbara Lambert Brown; twin grandsons, Matthew and Michael Paul Key; brothers, Earnest, Harrison, Raymond, Wade and Wayne; sisters, Nancy (Duck) Anderson and Judy Alexander.

He is survived by his daughter Susan Key and husband Michael of North Myrtle Beach, SC; son, Billy Ray Brown and wife Renee of Sophia, NC; granddaughters, Lindley Key of NY, NY and Brittany Brown of Sophia, NC.;  grandson, Christopher Brown of Sophia, NC; a sister Ruth Mitchell and husband Tommy, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 12 PM at Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home prior to the service.
