Mrs. Betty Triplett Ormond, age 82 of Purlear passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Lewis Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Dwayne Andrews officiating with military honors by Veterans of Foreign War Post 1142 Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honor Guard following the service.
Betty was born November 24, 1940, in Wilkes County to Charles S. and Lorina Whittington Triplett. She served in the United States Navy from 1959 until 1963 and was a lifelong member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Louise Triplett, Margaret Green, Charlotte Ellis and three brothers; Avery Triplett, Max Triplett and Archie Triplett.
She is survived by a daughter; Dina Royal of Wilkesboro and a son; David Ormond, Jr. and wife Karissa of Purlear, a grandchild; Quinn Royal, two sisters; Roberta Church of Wilkesboro, Elizabeth Triplett of Boone and a sister-in-law; Ruth Triplett of Purlear.
