Mrs. Betty “Sue” Walker Luther, age 85, of North Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Lotus Village Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Sparta, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2026, at Harvest Time Ministry and Chrisitan Academy of Wilkesboro with Pastor Gene Shephard and Pastor Tommy Mikeal officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens following the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Sue was born on February 25, 1941, in Wilkes County to Grover Wheeler and Hessie Handy Walker. She was a member of Harvest Time Ministries. She worked in banking years ago, she spent the last of her working career managing convenient stores, the Run Inn’s. Sue loved to talk to everyone, she never met a stranger. She loved working, just to get out of the house and meet new people, running around with her best friend Tera and going out to eat. Sue loved her dogs Booger, and Oscar. She loved her family, life and her red lipstick.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hubert Luther; her daughter, Vickie K Jones; two brothers, Olin R. “Ted” Walker and Larry Rex “Butch” Walker.
She is survived by her sons, Rex Howard “Toby” Harrold, Jr. (Ann) of Hays, Brian Keith “Scooter” Harrold of North Wilkesboro; special daughter, Tera Kennedy of Hays; grandchildren, Jonathan C. Harrold (Amber), Justin B. Harrold (Nakeisha), Brian K. Rhoades (Jessie); eleven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Walker of Moravian Falls and Betty Walker of Mulberry.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
