Ms. Betty Laura Walsh Jennings, age 87, of Wilkesboro passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held, 3:00 PM Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Jason Adams, Rev. Mark Wood and Grandson; Zach Wood officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (Wilkesboro). The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Betty was born on June 17, 1938, in Wilkes County to Robert Clarence and Metaree Bullis Walsh. She was a well-known baby-sitter in the community, , known as MaMaw, a founding member of Goshen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Shady Grove Ladies Circle. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Kyle Dean Jennings and a son; Michael Dean Jennings.
She is survived by two daughters; Pamela Jennings Wood (Mark) of Wilkesboro, Nancy Jennings Jones (Doug) of Purlear, three grandchildren; Zachary Wood (Jessica), Christopher Jones (Taylor Faye), Jacob Jones, three great grandchildren; Jordan, Jaxson, Charleigh-Raye, and a sister; Bobbie Brown (Ray) and several nieces and nephews.
