Mrs. Betty Jane “ Mamaw Miller” Woodie Miller, age 88, of Millers Creek passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at her home.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Shannon Critcher, Rev. Grant Caudill and Rev. Brian Miller officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 until 8 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miller was born May 23, 1932 to Raymond Carl Woodie, Sr. and Alma Lee Barker Woodie. She graduated from Artistic Beauty School and was a Pharmacy Technician at Brame Drug Store for 42 years. She was a member of Millers Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by: two daughters; Debbie Minton and husband Jerry of Millers Creek, Crystal Stringfield and Marshall Johnston of Asheville; 10 grandchildren: Brian Miller (Holly) of Bristol, VA; Clarissa Shepherd (Scott), Angela Ellis (Greg) all of Millers Creek; Tara Johnson and Jessica Stringfield both of Asheville, NC; Kendra Birch (Nathan) of Wilkesboro; Jeremiah Minton (Amber) of North Wilkesboro; Katie Frazier (Justen) of UK; Jacob Minton of Spruce Pine; Joshua Miller (Mandy) of Greensboro: 23 great-grandchildren: Sarah Shepherd Miller (Luke); Rachel Shepherd; Brenton Miller; Brandon Miller; Savannah Ellis Walsh (Ryan); Chaselyn Ellis; Dawson Ellis; Shaunasee Briand; Colton Briand; Lilly Briand; Jarrett Minton; Colby Minton; Olivia Minton; Lakyn Minton; Landon Seeley; Waylen Williams; Triston Williams; Layla Williams; Jackson Peek; Nadia Johnson Garcia (Daniel); Laney Miller; Jonah Miller; Ty Miller; one great-great grandchild; Annaleya Burch; one sister; Peggy Shepherd (Charles) of Abingdon, VA; one-sister-in-law: Edwina Woodie of Millers Creek; two daughters-in-law; Henrietta Miller and Teresa Church both of Millers Creek; many special nieces and nephews; her pride and joy poodle “Bo”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Revere Miller; two sons, Jimmy Dale Miller and Jeffery Dean Miller; one grandson, Nathaniel Minton; a sister, Helen Shepherd; two brothers, R. C. Woodie and Gary Woodie.
