Bernice Eller Obituary

Mrs. Ann Bernice Beshears Eller, age 91, of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist – Wilkes Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Lewis Fork Baptist Church with Rev.  Dwayne Andrews and Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lewis Fork Baptist Church cemetery following the service.

Bernice was born on September 2, 1934, in Wilkes County to Alonzo and Pearl Calloway Beshears.   Bernice met her soulmate, Tony, in high school and the two shared a remarkable marriage that spanned over 72 years.  Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them - a testament to enduring love and commitment.  After they married, Bernice and Tony spent time in various parts of the country, being apart for only a short period of time when Tony was in the service.  Bernice was a devoted mother and relished her role as a stay-at-home mother to her two daughters.  When the children were older, she transitioned into the workforce, eventually retiring from Carolina Power and Light.  Then, after a brief time, she returned to work at Lowe’s hardware, where she enjoyed interacting with colleagues and customers.   Throughout her life, her greatest joy was her family.  She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  They were all a great source of pride to her.  Bernice’s home was always immaculate.  In her leisure time, Bernice found joy and relaxation in working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends.  She was also a woman of faith and was a proud member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church.  She will always be remembered for her smile, her quick wit, and her contagious laughter.  Her life was a reflection of the love she had for her family.  She leaves behind a legacy of devotion and hard work that will be cherished by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters, Denton McNeil (James), Hazel Parsons (Harold), Nancy Fletcher (Charles); brothers, Bud Beshears (Joyce), Ritz Beshears; sister-in-law, Joann Rich and brother-in-law, Conley Cheek.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Tony Coles Eller of the home; daughters, Robin Eller Frye (Jerry) of Wilkesboro, Jeanie Eller Davis (Allen) of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Travis Frye (Katelyn), Anthony Davis (Ashley), Brent Frye (Beth), Andrea Triplett (Matt); great-grandchildren, Phoebe Ann Frye, Cayleigh and Kaiden Davis, Jackson Reid and Layla Frye, Davis and Hallie Triplett; sister, Frances Cheek and sisters-in-law, Shirley Beshears of Purlear, Jerry Church of Wilkesboro, Gail Yates (Clayton) of Purlear; brothers-in-law, Ray Rich (Mary Jane) of Wilkesboro, Reggie Eller (Linda) of Wilkesboro and many beloved nieces and nephews.
